The Korea International Poster Biennale established in 2002 is a competition aiming at serving as a benchmark of graphic designs of the 21st century, the era of information and digital technology.
The organizer of the competition is KIDP (Korea Institute of Design Promotion) and the sponsor is MOCIE (Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy). ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) also supports the competition.
The 2nd Korea International Poster Biennale held in 2004 received 2,112 from 44 countries. 263 works won prizes and Grand Prix went to Melchior Imboden.
Winning posters are provided with opportunities of appearance at related exhibitions and in a catalogue of the Biennale.
